A visit is a normal part of renting a room. These tips help you stay safe.
1. Go in daylight. Choose a time before it gets dark.
2. Tell someone you trust where you are going and when you will be back. Send them the address and the time before you leave.
3. Take a friend or a family member if you can.
4. Pay the inspection fee only on Zappol, before you go. Never pay it in cash to anyone at the door.
5. Give your 6-digit check-in code only when you are at the house and you feel comfortable. Never read it out over the phone before you arrive.
6. Trust your feeling. You may leave at any time, and you do not need a reason.
7. If the house looks empty, or more people are there than you expected, wait outside and call the person you trust.
8. If anything is wrong, open My Zappol, find your inspection and tap Report a problem. In an emergency call 112; if it does not connect where you are, go to the nearest police station.
These are tips, not promises. Zappol is not at the house with you. Look after yourself first.
